KARWAR

This blog will give you a gist of best things to do in karwar & things to do around karwar.

21/5/2016- we started at 7 in the morning from mumbai & reached karwar at 7 in the evening. We are staying at sterling karwar. We get an amazing room on the 6 th floor, with a sea facing view from the living room and bedroom.

22/5/2016- we have lunch and head towards yana caves. From the parking to the caves us an hour trek through the forest. It's hot and we both were sweating but the trek through nature was worth it.

The Cave is huge and natural. Still untouched and not commercialised.
For that matter the entire experience for karwar is such.

Also there is a shivranjani temple next to the cave.
23/5/2016- In the evening we go to karwar beach. It is crowded but clean. We see the sun setting on the beach and take a walk on the beach.
24/5/2016- yayyyyy it's anniversary day.
We first head to murudeshwar. I have already been there twice before but going with hubby is a different experience altogether.
As we enter we see the temple and a huge shiv statue.

We pray at the temple. We have lunch at a restaurant with an amazing view of the sea.

Then we take Lord ganpati's blessings at idugunji temple.
Then we see the mirjan fort, which is in good condition, & has a view of the surrounding landscape full of coconut trees.

We then head towards the gokarna temple which had a huge line. We were supposed to take water from the shiv ling as blessings, which was unique.
Gokarna beach was a disappointment, crowded & dirty.

Om beach was good, even though we reached a little after sunset.
The beach is in the shape of om.

25/5/2016- we go to sadashivgadh hill fort in the evening & we get to see the sunset from there. It is at a height and offers a view of the kali river meeting the sea. A couple of islands can also be seen from the fort. It has panoramic views of the river, the ocean & the surrounding countryside.
